An Open Letter to the Boston Bruins

Dear Sirs,

Tonight I have tickets to see Intronaut, Scale the Summit, and Mouth of the Architect.  As such, I will be unable to watch tonight’s Stanley Cup Playoffs game six.  Should you lose tonight, the Stanley Cup would be awarded to the Chicago Blackhawks, the playoffs would be over, and I would have missed the season’s final game.

If you could find the mettle to win tonight’s match, forcing a game seven back in Chicago on Wednesday night, I would be able to watch the final contest in its entirety.  I believe that many hockey fans would be amenable to this situation, both Bruins fans and NHL fans alike.  The excitement and drama of a winner-take-all final game would be exhilarating for fans and the added attention would be beneficial to the league as a whole.  Also, fans of the Bruins themselves, both in Boston and around the world, would still hold hope that their beloved team may yet win this season’s league championship.

I hope for the benefit of the league, the people of the city of Boston, and for my own personal desires that you find the resolve to extend the season one more game.

Kindest Regards,
Gregory Lybanon
